In an exciting development for travelers, JetBlue Airways Corp (Nasdaq: JBLU), the leading airline in Fort Lauderdale, has unveiled plans to expand its service offerings from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in anticipation of the busy spring break and Patriots’ Day travel periods. Starting in March 2026, the airline will introduce flights to six new destinations, significantly enhancing options for vacationers heading to the Sunshine State and beyond.
Expanding Destination Options
JetBlue will be launching seasonal flights to the following destinations that are not currently served from Fort Lauderdale:
- Bozeman, Montana (BZN)
- Denver, Colorado (DEN)
- Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas (DFW)
- Reno-Tahoe, Nevada (RNO)
- Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC)
- Jacksonville, Florida (JAX)
The new service is designed to accommodate the strong demand for two-way travel during peak periods as families and individuals flock to South Florida for its beaches and warm weather. Additionally, these routes provide South Florida residents with convenient access to popular ski resorts and outdoor recreational areas across the United States.
Special Patriots’ Day Flight
In recognition of Patriots' Day, JetBlue will also introduce a special flight connecting Portland, Maine (PWM) with Fort Lauderdale, operating five times a week from April 16 to April 27, 2026. This addition underscores JetBlue's commitment to catering to leisure travelers during significant holiday periods.
Signature JetBlue Experience
Passengers traveling on these new routes can expect the signature JetBlue experience, which includes:
- Fast, free, unlimited high-speed Fly-Fi®
- Seatback entertainment at every seat
- Complimentary name-brand snacks and beverages
Strategic Growth in Fort Lauderdale
Dave Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue, commented on the expansion, stating, "As we continue to grow our position as the leading carrier in Fort Lauderdale, we’re excited to bring even more destinations and flexibility to our customers during one of the busiest travel periods of the year. From spring break favorites to special Patriots’ Day flying, these routes are another example of how we’re responding to demand and creating more opportunities for travelers to enjoy the experience that sets JetBlue apart."
JetBlue is also commencing service on eight previously announced routes to popular destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Aruba, Cartagena, and Grand Cayman, as well as domestic services to Norfolk and Tampa. The airline is increasing frequency on several existing routes from Fort Lauderdale, reinforcing its commitment to growing its presence in South Florida.
A Commitment to South Florida
JetBlue has deep roots in Fort Lauderdale, having established it as its very first destination over 25 years ago. Today, JetBlue dominates FLL, operating more departures on peak days than any other airline this winter. The airline's ambitious growth strategy includes plans to offer 113 daily departures and serve 46 nonstop destinations this winter, showcasing its ongoing investment in the region.
JetBlue's continued expansion in Fort Lauderdale is complemented by the upcoming establishment of a dedicated Mint inflight crewmember base, set to open in early 2026, further solidifying the airline's leadership position at FLL.
Conclusion
With the addition of these new routes and increased flight frequencies, JetBlue is poised to enhance travel options for customers heading to and from Fort Lauderdale. As the airline continues to innovate and grow, it remains committed to delivering the quality, comfort, and value that travelers have come to expect.
