1. Introduction of an Intuitive Shopping Experience

On July 27, 2026, JetBlue Airways Corp (NASDAQ: JBLU) announced a significant enhancement to its customer experience by introducing a simpler and more intuitive way for customers to shop for flights. This new system will allow travelers to easily compare available onboard experiences and select fare options that best align with their preferences, marking a pivotal shift in how JetBlue engages with its customers.

2. A New Framework for Flight Selection

Set to roll out in the coming days, JetBlue's revamped shopping experience is built around a two-step selection process. Customers will first choose from one of the airline's four distinct onboard experiences: Main, EvenMore®, BlueFirst™, or Mint®. Each experience defines the seating area, onboard amenities, and level of service that customers can expect during their flight.

Following the selection of an onboard experience, customers will have the opportunity to choose from up to three fare options tailored to varying travel needs and budgets. This approach is aimed at simplifying the booking process, enhancing customer satisfaction, and improving overall flight accessibility.

3. Introducing BlueFirst: A New Era of Domestic First-Class Travel

A key highlight of this announcement is the introduction of BlueFirst, JetBlue's new domestic first-class experience. Set to roll out later this year, BlueFirst aims to provide a premium travel option for customers seeking enhanced comfort and service. The name "BlueFirst" has been carefully chosen to resonate with customers looking for a recognizable and high-quality domestic first-class experience.

Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, expressed the company's commitment to making the booking process seamless: “In two simple clicks, customers will be able to book what’s right for them. First, the onboard experience, and then the fare option depending on their preferences around seat selection and refundability.”

4. Breakdown of Onboard Experiences

JetBlue has categorized its onboard services into four distinct experiences, each designed to cater to specific customer needs:

  • Main: JetBlue’s signature offering, featuring caring service, complimentary high-speed Fly-Fi®, seatback entertainment with live TV, and free snacks and drinks.
  • EvenMore®: A premium-economy experience that includes extra legroom, priority security (where available), early boarding, and additional onboard perks.
  • BlueFirst™: The upcoming domestic first-class experience, rolling out across non-Mint aircraft and routes later this year.
  • Mint®: An award-winning premium experience known for its lie-flat seating, curated dining, and elevated service on select routes.

5. Fare Options Tailored to Customer Needs

Within each onboard experience, customers can choose from three fare options designed to provide varying levels of flexibility:

  • Base (Main Base, EvenMore Base, BlueFirst Base): The lowest available fare, ideal for price-sensitive travelers. This option does not include seat selection, and cancellations result in travel credit (minus any applicable fees).
  • Standard (Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst, or Mint): The most popular fare option, including seat selection, no change fees, and travel credit for eligible cancellations.
  • Flex (Main Flex, EvenMore Flex, BlueFirst Flex, or Mint Flex): The most flexible fare option, offering seat selection, no change fees, and a full refund to the original form of payment for eligible cancellations.

It’s important to note that Base fares are not available in the Mint experience.

6. Looking Ahead: Future Developments

JetBlue encourages customers to explore the updated fare options by visiting their website. The new fare structures will be available to the public shortly. TrueBlue Mosaics and JetBlue cardholders will continue to enjoy the same benefits, and customers with existing bookings will retain the terms associated with their originally purchased fares. Additional details regarding BlueFirst and available fare options will be shared as the year progresses.
