United Airlines Unveils Patriotic Livery and Milestone Military Hiring Program

On June 15, 2026, United Airlines Holdings Inc. unveiled a striking new specialty livery named the "Stars and Stripes," designed to celebrate the United States' 250th anniversary. In addition to the new livery, United Airlines announced a significant milestone in its United Military Pilot Program, which provides a pathway for currently serving active-duty U.S. military pilots to transition into civilian roles at the airline. Since the program's inception in 2024, nearly 600 military pilots have successfully transitioned to United, with an additional 500 anticipated by the end of 2027.

This initiative allows eligible military pilots to receive a conditional job offer as First Officers, even before they separate from active duty. Notably, applicants do not need to hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate at the time of application, providing greater flexibility for service members to align their career transition with their personal circumstances.
