On May 14, 2025, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (NYSE: HPE) made headlines with the announcement of significant advancements in its data storage solutions aimed at bolstering cyber resiliency and ensuring data availability for its HPE Alletra Storage MP customers. The company unveiled new service-level agreements (SLAs) designed to meet the evolving needs of modern enterprises, particularly in an era characterized by increasing cyber threats and the necessity for agile data management.

1. New Guarantees to Future-Proof IT Infrastructure

In a statement that underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, Jim O’Dorisio, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Storage at HPE, emphasized the importance of intelligent and agile storage solutions. “Modern enterprises demand storage that is intelligent by design and agile by architecture,” he noted, adding that the new guarantees are built on HPE's industry-leading AIOps and disaggregated storage technologies.

Key Features of the New SLAs

HPE introduced several groundbreaking guarantees that are set to redefine customer expectations in data storage:

  • Zero Data Loss and Downtime Guarantee: This feature eliminates recovery time by utilizing high-availability synchronous replication, known as active peer persistence, ensuring that businesses can operate without interruption.
  • Cyber Resiliency Guarantee: In the event of a ransomware attack, this guarantee provides access to recoverable immutable snapshots and promises urgent assistance from outage recovery experts within 30 minutes of a reported incident.
  • Energy Consumption Guarantee: HPE is committed to optimizing energy efficiency, ensuring that storage operates at peak performance while keeping energy consumption below a specified threshold.

These new guarantees complement existing offerings for B10000 customers, including a 100% data availability guarantee, StoreMore data efficiency that promises at least a 4:1 cost savings, and a free, non-disruptive controller refresh that leads to a 30% reduction in total cost of ownership (TCO).

2. Addressing Data Protection Challenges for ROBOs and SMBs

Beyond the enhancements for its enterprise storage solutions, HPE also expanded its StoreOnce backup and recovery appliance portfolio, introducing two new entry-level models: the HPE StoreOnce 3720 and 3760. These models are specifically designed to address the unique data protection challenges faced by remote office/branch offices (ROBOs) and small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Features of the New StoreOnce Models

The new HPE StoreOnce 3720 and 3760 models boast impressive specifications, including:

  • Scalability: These appliances can scale from 18 terabytes (TB) to 216TB of local usable capacity, with the option to expand to 648TB through cloud storage integration.
  • Data Reduction and Backup Speeds: They deliver a typical data reduction rate of 20:1, along with backup speeds of up to 25TB per hour.
  • Robust Cyber Protection: Features such as multi-factor authentication, encryption, and immutability are integrated to safeguard data from cyber threats.

According to HPE, the latest additions to its data protection portfolio are estimated to be 67% denser for constrained spaces while consuming 29% less power, optimized for leading backup software.

3. Availability and Next Steps

The new guarantees for IT outcomes are available immediately as part of the HPE Storage Future-Ready Program, while the HPE StoreOnce 3720 and 3760 models are set to be released early in the third quarter of 2025.

4. Conclusion

Hewlett Packard Enterprise's latest press release highlights its proactive approach to addressing the complex data storage and protection needs of modern enterprises. By introducing innovative guarantees and expanding its product offerings, HPE is positioning itself as a leader in the competitive landscape of data management solutions, ensuring that organizations can adapt to challenges while optimizing their operations. With the launch of these advanced solutions, HPE continues to pave the way for a future-ready IT infrastructure.
