HPE and Rowan University Strengthen Ties to Propel Research and Workforce Readiness

The initiative is designed to bolster Rowan's research output and educational quality, particularly in fields such as engineering, healthcare, biomedical sciences, and advanced manufacturing. As the university's research portfolio continues to grow, the demand for scalable computing and reliable connectivity has become increasingly critical.

HPE’s advanced solutions are set to enable faster insights and a more hands-on learning experience for students. The collaboration will provide students with access to powerful supercomputing systems and enterprise platforms, which are vital for real-world applications in research, internships, and class projects.

The expanded partnership builds upon a relationship that has spanned over 25 years, underscoring the deep trust and commitment between HPE and Rowan University. With this new focus, Rowan faculty and researchers will be able to work more efficiently with large datasets and complex models, significantly reducing the time taken from hypothesis to results.

In partnership with HPE and SHI, Rowan's Information Resources & Technology (IRT) team has implemented a colocation facility that supports a new data center. This initiative enhances the university's resilience against potential disasters, ensuring that research and educational activities can continue without interruption.

The collaboration will see Rowan University shift its campus networking platform to HPE Networking, which is expected to improve connectivity for students, faculty, and researchers. This transition is pivotal for enabling AI-enhanced network operations, thereby increasing reliability across campus.

The upgraded infrastructure will facilitate larger experiments and faster iterations in various fields, from artificial intelligence to Internet of Things applications. Specific components of the HPE solution include:
