Amazon.com Inc. Press Release: Enhancements to IMDb and IMDbPro

On November 5, 2025, IMDb, the world's leading source for film and television information, announced a significant enhancement to its platform aimed at increasing visibility for entertainment industry professionals. The introduction of 12 new professional credit categories on both IMDb and IMDbPro will allow for better recognition of essential roles within the industry. This change comes as a result of extensive collaboration with various industry organizations, including the Choreographers Guild, Colorist Society, I.A.T.S.E. locals, the National Association of Voice Actors (NAVA), Property Masters Guild, and SAG-AFTRA.

Previously, many of these roles were relegated to the "Additional Crew" section. With these updates, IMDb now boasts a total of 45 professional credit categories, marking a significant step toward acknowledging the diverse contributions of various professionals in the entertainment industry.

Nikki Santoro, CEO of IMDb, expressed her enthusiasm for the new categories, stating, “Our vision is to ensure every profession involved in making movies and TV shows receives equal recognition.” She also highlighted the importance of collaboration with IMDbPro customers and industry partners in shaping these updates.

Sean Astin, President of SAG-AFTRA, emphasized the need for accurate crediting within the industry: “It’s important that IMDbPro has made this commitment to recognizing the many professionals whose creativity and dedication make film and television possible.” His sentiments were echoed by numerous industry leaders who praised the initiative as a vital step toward inclusivity.

Mandy Moore, a prominent choreographer, stated, “Having the Choreography credit category on IMDb and IMDbPro is a sign of respect for our profession and the value we bring to the entertainment industry.” Similar sentiments were shared by representatives from the Colorist Society, I.A.T.S.E. locals, and the Property Masters Guild, all of whom expressed gratitude for the recognition of their crafts.

Tim Friedlander, President of NAVA, highlighted the importance of acknowledging voice actors, stating, “Voice actors are often the unknown voices behind your favorite performances, and IMDb is an important and vital source that brings credibility and visibility to our art form.”

In addition to the new credit categories, IMDb has also expanded the scope of voice actor credits by accepting submissions for dubbing foreign-language versions of films and television shows. This move reflects the growing global popularity of international content and the increasing demand for professionals in this niche. Dubbing credits are now accepted in English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

The new credit categories and dubbing options will enhance discoverability for professionals in these fields, making it easier for audiences and industry peers to connect with them on IMDb and IMDbPro. IMDb is currently in the process of migrating existing credits to the new categories, with updates expected to be completed by November 9, 2025.
