1. Major Transition in Financial Leadership

In a significant development for Trimble Inc (Nasdaq: TRMB), the company has announced the upcoming retirement of Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) Julie Shepard, who will step down in early 2026 after an impressive tenure of over 18 years. The announcement, made on August 18, 2025, highlights a strategic transition in the company's leadership that is expected to bolster its financial reporting and operational excellence.

New Chief Accounting Officer Appointed

Effective September 2025, Kenny Bement will take over as the new CAO. To ensure a smooth transition, Shepard and Bement will collaborate over the next six to eight months. Julie Shepard will continue to lend her expertise during the auditor transition for the 2025 financial statements, ensuring that the integrity and continuity of Trimble's financial operations are maintained.

Kenny Bement comes to Trimble with a wealth of experience exceeding two decades in financial reporting, controls, and compliance. His career began as an auditor, and he later played a pivotal role at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, where he was the primary author of the ASC 606 revenue recognition standard. Bement has held senior positions in various companies, including CAO roles at Conservice, Vista Outdoor, Ancestry, and Gopuff, as well as leadership positions at tech giants Alphabet and Raytheon.

A New Role: Chief Information Officer

In addition to the leadership change in the financial department, Trimble has also announced the appointment of Jim Palermo as Chief Information Officer (CIO), a newly established role within the company. Palermo will focus on enhancing Trimble's IT infrastructure to propel its "Connect and Scale" digital transformation initiative.

Jim Palermo brings over 20 years of IT leadership experience to Trimble, having most recently served as CIO for Red Hat. In this role, he oversaw large, global teams and led a significant transformation of the SaaS business model. His previous experience includes key positions at Cisco and Nortel, equipping him with the skills necessary to drive technological advancements at Trimble.

Leadership's Vision for the Future

Phil Sawarynski, CFO at Trimble, expressed gratitude towards Julie Shepard for her substantial contributions, particularly in the company's shift from perpetual to subscription licensing models. “I am excited for Jim and Kenny to join the team and continue our efforts to simplify and focus the company to deliver on our Connect and Scale strategy,” Sawarynski stated.

This executive restructuring comes at a pivotal time for Trimble as it continues to innovate and adapt within the rapidly evolving technology landscape. The leadership changes are not just a routine shift but a strategic move aimed at enhancing the company's operational efficiency and digital capabilities.
