1. A Game-Changer for Performance Marketers

In a significant move to bridge the gap between digital and television advertising, Comcast Corporation’s Universal Ads has announced the launch of two new categories within its Business Partners Program: Audience and Mobile Measurement Partners. This strategic enhancement is aimed at simplifying the way brands can create, buy, and measure advertisements across premium video platforms, marking a pivotal moment for performance marketers eager to tap into the expansive potential of television as a growth channel.

2. New Partnerships to Facilitate Audience Activation

Among the inaugural Audience Partners joining Universal Ads are well-known industry players such as Klaviyo, LiveRamp, and TransUnion. These partnerships enable brands to directly integrate their first- and third-party customer segments into Universal Ads, adhering to privacy protocols. This integration is designed to eliminate the traditional complexities associated with measuring and activating audiences on television, a medium that has historically required separate tools and methodologies.

Eddie O’Brien, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships & Alliances at Klaviyo, emphasized the importance of data in driving customer-first growth. He stated, “Our partnership with Universal Ads gives the brands we serve a new way to extend the audiences they already know into premium TV; helping them personalize beyond owned channels and leverage customer experiences for smarter growth.”

3. Enhancing Mobile Measurement Capabilities

In conjunction with the Audience category, Universal Ads has also introduced Mobile Measurement Partners. This new offering allows app advertisers to extend their mobile attribution and measurement workflows across premium television. The integration means that advertisers can now access mobile measurement tools for install measurement, post-install event tracking, and campaign analytics without the need for additional SDKs.

Adam Paul, Executive Director of Media and Sports Alliances at LiveRamp, remarked, “LiveRamp helps marketers unlock more value from their data. Our work with Universal Ads makes it easier for brands to bring the audiences and workflows they already trust into premium TV, so they can seamlessly reach the right viewers with more consistency, efficiency, and scale.”

4. A Familiar Approach to TV Advertising

Greg Lieber, Head of Platform Partnerships at Universal Ads, articulated the overarching goal of the initiative: to make TV advertising as familiar and straightforward as social media or search advertising. He noted, “With partners across Audience and Mobile Measurement, marketers can extend what is already working for them in digital into premium TV and grow their businesses on the biggest screen in the house.”

The addition of these new categories builds upon Universal Ads’ existing Business Partners Program, which was introduced last year to help brands launch TV campaigns and demonstrate performance. This evolution not only enhances tools for creative targeting and activation but also empowers advertisers to transition seamlessly from digital to premium video without altering their established workflows.

5. Partnerships with Major Media Companies

Through Universal Ads, advertisers can showcase their brands alongside premium content from a wide array of reputable publishers and distributors. The platform boasts partnerships with leading companies such as A+E, AMC Networks, Cox Media, DIRECTV, Fox Corporation, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Roku, and Warner Bros. Discovery, among others.

6. Looking Ahead

As more performance marketers seek to leverage television advertising to attract new customers, Universal Ads is poised to redefine the landscape by integrating familiar digital practices into the TV space. Brands are encouraged to reach out to their Universal Ads representatives to explore how these new partnerships can enhance their existing campaigns and activate new ones.

With these innovations, Comcast Corp's Universal Ads is not just adapting to the needs of modern advertisers; it is setting a new standard for how television advertising can be approached in the digital age.
