On July 20, 2026, NIQ Global Intelligence Plc, a leader in consumer intelligence, unveiled the strategic appointment of Irina Stoian as its first Chief AI Commercial Officer (CAICO). This newly established role underscores NIQ's commitment to enhancing its enterprise AI commercial strategy, aiming to transform the company's advanced AI capabilities into tangible business growth and client success.

1. Strategic Role to Propel AI Growth

In her new position, Stoian will play a pivotal role in aligning various departments—Product, Technology, Commercial, Partnerships, and Marketing—under a cohesive AI growth strategy. Her responsibilities will encompass the development of commercial AI offerings, the formation of strategic partnerships, and the establishment of pricing and business models. Moreover, Stoian is tasked with integrating NIQ’s advanced capabilities into the workflows of clients, ensuring they fully leverage the company’s offerings.

Jim Peck, CEO of NIQ, stated, “AI is not a feature we are adding to NIQ; it is core to our product strategy. Irina brings exactly the combination of commercial credibility and AI fluency we need to make that strategy land with clients.”

2. A Proven Leader in AI

Stoian joins NIQ from Palantir Technologies, where she held the position of Commercial AI Lead for nearly six years. Her tenure at Palantir was marked by significant contributions to the deployment and scaling of AI-powered solutions, where she gained extensive experience in AI strategy, commercial operations, and enterprise transformation. Prior to her role at Palantir, Stoian worked at Barclays, focusing on analytics and commercialization, and was recognized as one of Forbes Romania’s 30 Under 30.

Expressing her enthusiasm for joining NIQ, Stoian remarked, “I joined NIQ because it has the rare combination of trusted data, strong products, global scale, exceptional talent, and deep customer relationships needed to be a leader in this next era. What excites me most is the opportunity to help NIQ evolve from a trusted data partner into an infrastructure and technology partner that powers AI-driven commerce for clients around the world.”

3. NIQ’s Unified AI Strategy

The appointment of Stoian is part of NIQ’s broader strategy to position itself as a trusted intelligence infrastructure for AI-driven commerce. NIQ aims to unify its AI portfolio, which includes products such as ConnectAI, NIQ Optiq™, and NIQ Cadence™, to enhance how clients access reliable data, intelligence, and AI-powered workflows.

Troy Treangen, NIQ’s Chief AI & Product Officer, elaborated on the importance of the CAICO role: “As AI continues to evolve rapidly, we created the CAICO role to better connect product strategy, commercialization, and client needs. Irina will help connect strategy, product, commercial execution, and client needs to translate AI innovation into market impact.”
