Associated Banc-Corp Announces Third Annual Day of Service
1. Mobilizing Employees for Community Engagement
On June 23, 2025, Associated Banc-Corp (NYSE: ASB) proudly announced its upcoming third annual Day of Service, set to take place on June 25. This year, more than 2,400 employees from the bank will volunteer their time with hundreds of nonprofit organizations across Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and parts of Missouri. The initiative is part of Associated's ongoing commitment to community service, with a focus on addressing critical issues such as food security, youth support services, and financial education.
2. Community Grants Support Local Nonprofits
In addition to the volunteer efforts, Associated Banc-Corp will distribute $17,500 in community grants to a dozen nonprofits. One notable grant will benefit the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation in East St. Louis, which offers youth programs that blend education and athletics. This grant will provide sporting equipment to be used during the Day of Service at the foundation's summer camp, facilitating a sports-themed financial education session and ongoing physical activities for the youth participants.
3. Diverse Volunteer Activities
The Day of Service will encompass a variety of volunteer activities tailored to meet the specific needs of each community. Employees will engage in repacking food at local food banks and pantries, decorating bags for Meals on Wheels, participating in community gardening and cleanup efforts, and interacting with youth centers and summer camps. This diverse approach ensures that the initiatives have a meaningful impact where it is needed most.
4. Leadership’s Commitment to Community
Andy Harmening, president and CEO of Associated Bank, expressed the company’s dedication to community service. "At Associated, service is in our branch and across our company," Harmening stated. He emphasized that the Day of Service embodies Associated's long-standing commitment to strengthening the communities they serve, through both hands-on support and direct investment in essential organizations.
5. Promoting Food Security with Stock the Box™
Leading up to the Day of Service, Associated Bank branches hosted a public food drive known as Stock the Box™, from June 4 to June 20. This initiative encouraged community members to donate nonperishable food items, which will be delivered to local food pantries and nonprofit partners. Such efforts highlight Associated's proactive approach to combating food insecurity in the regions they serve.
6. A Legacy of Service
Since its inception in 2023, the Day of Service has amassed over 13,300 volunteer hours, translating to approximately $435,000 in community service value. Last year, 58% of Associated employees participated in various activities, volunteering at 163 nonprofit organizations across 110 cities. This remarkable participation underscores the bank's commitment to making a positive difference in the community.
7. Broader Community Commitment
