Associated Banc-Corp Mobilizes for Community Impact During Fourth Annual Day of Service
1. Engaging Employees Across Six States
Associated Banc-Corp (NYSE: ASB) has announced its fourth annual Day of Service, set to take place from June 23 to 25. This initiative aims to engage nearly 2,600 employees as they volunteer with over 200 nonprofit organizations across Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and for the first time, parts of Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska. The inclusion of Iowa and Nebraska is a significant development following Associated’s recent merger with American National Corporation, which has a rich history of community engagement in these states.
2. Addressing Critical Community Needs
This year’s programming focuses on two key areas of heightened community need: food security and youth services. Notably, youth services have emerged as the top cause that Associated employees select when participating in volunteer activities throughout the year. According to Feeding America, nearly 14 million children across the United States experience food insecurity, a situation that worsens during the summer months when school meal programs are unavailable.
Volunteers will partake in a variety of activities tailored to meet the specific needs of each market. Initiatives include repacking food at local food banks and pantries, supporting youth summer educational programs, engaging in community gardening, and participating in cleanup projects.
3. Grant Support for Nonprofits
In addition to volunteer efforts, Associated Banc-Corp is also contributing to community welfare through its award of $13,400 in grants to 11 nonprofit organizations. These grants are aimed at supporting initiatives focused on food access, housing stability, youth development, and community services, thereby reinforcing the bank's commitment to the well-being of the communities it serves.
LaDonna Reed, senior vice president and director of Community Accountability, expressed the essence of the Day of Service: "It’s a reflection of who we are as a company and how we show up for the communities we serve." The inclusion of new colleagues from Iowa and Nebraska marks a proud expansion of this tradition, highlighting the bank’s dedication to community investment.
4. Stock the Box™ Initiative
In preparation for the Day of Service, Associated Bank branches are also hosting the Stock the Box™ food drive from June 3 to 19. Community members are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items at local branches, further supporting area food pantries and nonprofit partners.
5. A Growing Legacy of Service
Since its inception in 2023, the Day of Service has seen consistent growth, with more than 20,500 volunteer hours logged and a community service value exceeding $687,000 through 2025. Last year alone, 59% of Associated employees—over 2,400 individuals—volunteered with 182 nonprofit organizations across 104 cities.
The Day of Service is just one facet of Associated Banc-Corp's broader commitment to community development. The bank's $2 billion Community Commitment Plan is designed to provide loans and investments that facilitate community growth, complemented by charitable contributions aimed at fostering family and neighborhood prosperity.
