Workday Rising EMEA – On November 19, 2025, Workday, Inc. (NASDAQ: WDAY), a leader in enterprise AI solutions, unveiled significant developments aimed at enhancing its ecosystem. The company launched a global developer network and announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud, specifically integrating Google BigQuery into the Workday Data Cloud. These initiatives are designed to provide customers with greater access to Workday's AI capabilities and facilitate innovative data management practices.

1. Opening New Opportunities with the Global Developer Network

Workday's newly introduced global developer network aims to cultivate a diverse talent pool in AI development. This initiative grants access to Workday Build, allowing learners to develop, certify, and apply key Workday skills. As part of the program, aspiring developers will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating AI-powered solutions, ranging from simple extensions to complex agents.

In collaboration with universities worldwide, including the Chennai Institute of Technology and KL University, as well as staffing partners like Consultnet, Helios Consulting, and Randstad Digital, Workday will offer dedicated training paths and certifications. Participants who successfully complete the program will earn the Workday Pro Developer Certification and be showcased in the Workday Talent Directory, connecting them directly to organizations seeking qualified talent for their AI initiatives.

Trevor Lee, CEO of Helios Consulting, emphasized the transformative impact of the developer network, stating, "With a verified pool of Workday-certified developers, we can help clients quickly and confidently find skilled professionals who understand the technology and are ready to apply it to real business challenges."

2. Google BigQuery Enhances Workday Data Cloud Capabilities

In a move that further enriches the Workday ecosystem, Google Cloud has joined the Workday Data Cloud, enabling customers to leverage a secure, zero-copy method for accessing their Workday HR and finance data within BigQuery. This partnership simplifies the process of building predictive models, such as cash-flow forecasting, without the need for complicated integrations or the risk of duplicating sensitive data.

The integration allows clients to import insights generated within Google Cloud, including AI-driven predictions, back into Workday, thus enhancing decision-making processes and driving improved business outcomes. Andi Gutmans, VP and GM of Data Cloud at Google Cloud, noted, "By combining Workday's trusted HR and finance data with Google Cloud's leading analytics and AI capabilities, customers can build intelligent agents to streamline their operations and drive smarter and more timely decisions with confidence."

This new partnership adds to an already robust ecosystem that includes prominent partners such as Databricks, Salesforce, and Snowflake, providing customers with multiple avenues to integrate and analyze their data securely.

3. Strategic Acquisition of Pipedream to Further Bolster the Ecosystem

In addition to these advancements, Workday announced its planned acquisition of Pipedream, a leading integration platform known for its extensive array of pre-built connectors. This acquisition is intended to enhance Workday's commitment to fostering an open ecosystem. The integration of Pipedream, along with previous acquisitions like Sana and Flowise, will create an end-to-end AI agent platform that empowers organizations to not only glean insights but also execute tasks across the enterprise effectively.

Pipedream's active builder community will synergize with Flowise's open-source community, accelerating the development of new connectors and boosting Workday's support for open development. This initiative aims to drive continuous innovation throughout the platform and its ecosystem.

4. Availability and Future Outlook

Workday's global developer network is set to launch in early 2026, with initial collaborations involving universities and staffing partners. The Workday Data Cloud, enhanced by the Google BigQuery partnership, will be available to early adopter customers in the first half of 2026, with a broader rollout anticipated later that year.

Workday continues to solidify its position as a leader in the enterprise AI landscape, focusing on unifying HR and finance on a single intelligent platform. With over 11,000 organizations globally, including more than 65% of the Fortune 500, Workday empowers businesses to adapt quickly and make informed decisions that drive meaningful results.
