Roper Technologies Inc. Unveils Major Update to Transact IDX®: A Leap Towards Seamless Campus Life
In a significant advancement for campus technology, Roper Technologies Inc. announced on September 16, 2025, a major update to Transact IDX®, its cloud-based campus transaction and credential system. This update introduces mobile credential integration with Apple and Google Wallets, enhancing the student experience while improving operational efficiency for educational institutions.
1. Streamlining Campus Access
Students can now easily add their campus IDs to Apple and Google Wallets, eliminating the need for a separate app to access essential services such as dormitories, dining halls, and libraries. This integration addresses the increasing reliance on mobile technology among students, particularly as 79% of Gen Z are already utilizing digital wallets. Rasheed Behrooznia, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Campus ID and Commerce Solutions at Transact, stated, "It's the difference between asking students to adapt to campus technology versus campus technology adapting to them."
2. Enhanced Features for Students and Institutions
The update is not limited to wallet integration; it brings a suite of new features aimed at reducing administrative burdens and improving the overall student experience. Key enhancements include:
- Centralized Access: The Transact eAccounts mobile app now integrates with Transact IDX®, enabling students to check balances, make deposits, provision credentials, and report lost IDs—all in one user-friendly platform.
- Expanded Partner Network: Transact IDX® now collaborates with over 125 certified technology partners, including new certifications with Aramark Oracle Micros systems. A new Purchaser Info API enables partners to display student photos and receipts at checkout, and robot-delivered food services have already been implemented at institutions like Oregon State, showcasing the platform's innovative capabilities.
- Automation for Staff: The update allows schools to automate ACH settlements for off-campus programs and vending services, schedule broader transaction data exports, and utilize tools such as one-click photo syncs and improved transaction filters—reducing the manual workload for staff.
- Simplified Meal Plan Management: Enhanced tools for meal plan setup and management make it easier for institutions to configure and replicate meal settings across different terms.
Taran Lent, Senior Vice President of Product Strategy at Transact, expressed enthusiasm about the update’s potential to transform campus operations, stating, “What excites me most about this release is how it frees up campus teams—from automating routine tasks to delivering clearer data—so they can spend more time improving the student experience rather than troubleshooting systems.”
3. Proven Reliability and Future Developments
Transact IDX® currently supports millions of cardholders, processing transactions with an impressive 100% uptime. This reliability underscores Roper Technologies' commitment to maintaining market leadership in campus technology solutions. The new updates are available to all Transact and CBORD higher education clients, who can leverage these enhancements without additional hardware investments or complex migrations.
Looking ahead, Roper Technologies plans to roll out regular updates that will further enhance the Transact IDX® system with features such as AI assistance, advanced reporting capabilities, guest deposits, and entitlement tools to better manage student service eligibility.
