The strategic collaboration between Sompo and Guidewire is set to unify decision-making across Sompo’s local and country-specific entities. Under this agreement, Sompo will transition its existing Guidewire applications from on-premises environments to the Guidewire Cloud Platform. By doing so, the company aims to streamline its operations, allowing for enhanced decision-making capabilities across multiple lines of business.

Sompo Direct Insurance, Inc., which operates as a direct-to-consumer P&C insurer in Japan, has specifically chosen several Guidewire solutions, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, Jutro Digital Platform, and Data Studio. These core systems will support various lines of business, including automobile, homeowner, and earthquake insurance. The deployment of ClaimCenter on Guidewire Cloud Platform, implemented in 2024, marks a critical step in this ongoing transformation.
