In a statement regarding Gaidoo's appointment, Jennifer Rumsey, Chair and CEO of Cummins, highlighted his 14-year tenure and significant contributions to the company. "John has significantly impacted our company's success, the teams he leads, and the communities he supports," said Rumsey. Gaidoo’s legal expertise spans critical areas such as intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, procurement, regulatory compliance, and administrative legal services, underscoring his readiness for this new role.

Gaidoo's journey at Cummins began in 2011 as a labor and employment lawyer, and he has since held various pivotal positions that showcase his leadership and legal acumen. Notable milestones include the creation of the Crisis Action Management Plan in 2012 and his role as Executive Director of Human Resources for Cummins Emission Solutions in 2017. His leadership of the global Labor Relations team starting in 2018 further solidified his reputation within the company. Most recently, he served as Vice President – Senior Deputy General Counsel before his upcoming promotion.

John Gaidoo is not only a seasoned legal professional but also a former United States Marine Corps veteran. Before joining Cummins, Gaidoo practiced labor and employment law in Indianapolis at the law firm of Baker & Daniels LLP (now known as Faegre). He holds both a bachelor’s degree and a juris doctor from Indiana University, further establishing his strong foundation in legal principles and practices.
