1. Introduction

On October 1, 2025, STARLUX Airlines announced a significant expansion of its codeshare partnership with Alaska Airlines, enhancing connectivity between the U.S. and Asia. This new phase of collaboration introduces 12 new U.S. gateways, allowing travelers easier access to STARLUX's premium services and extensive Asian network.

2. Expanded Network and New Gateways

The enhanced codeshare agreement brings the total number of U.S. cities connected to Taipei by STARLUX Airlines to 20. The newly added gateways include:

Via Seattle:

  • Minneapolis
  • Atlanta
  • Tampa
  • Anchorage
  • Raleigh-Durham
  • Orlando
  • Washington Dulles
  • Kansas City
  • Philadelphia
  • Spokane
  • Boise

Via San Francisco:

  • Newark

These cities complement the original eight codeshare cities, which consist of Salt Lake City, San Diego, Phoenix, Portland, Las Vegas, Dallas, Denver, and Austin. This expansion reflects STARLUX's ambitious strategy to broaden its U.S. network and improve accessibility for travelers seeking to reach Taipei and beyond.

3. Seamless Travel Experience

The partnership not only enhances route options but also improves the overall travel experience for passengers. With streamlined booking processes, coordinated check-in, and smooth transfers through Alaska’s domestic network and STARLUX's international gateways in San Francisco and Seattle, travelers are expected to enjoy a hassle-free journey.

STARLUX's COSMILE members can now redeem mileage on Alaska-operated flights, adding more value and flexibility to their travel plans. This feature aims to make the travel experience smoother and more rewarding for loyal customers.

4. Executive Insights

STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, stating, “This new chapter in our partnership not only strengthens our North American network but also gives travelers more flexibility and efficiency when flying to Taipei and beyond.” He emphasized the importance of this collaboration in enhancing the travel experience for customers.

Similarly, Alex Judson, Managing Director of Partnerships & International at Alaska Airlines, conveyed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We’re excited to expand our collaboration with STARLUX to connect even more of our network to its long-haul service from Taipei.” Judson noted that the enhancement underscores a shared commitment to providing travelers with greater choice, convenience, and premium service across the Pacific.

5. Future Growth and Strategic Partnerships

STARLUX currently operates 33 routes to 29 destinations, which include a robust regional network in Asia as well as long-haul services to key locations in the U.S. The airline is constantly looking to strengthen its competitive edge through strategic partnerships, aiming to enhance global connectivity for both passenger and cargo services.

In addition to the codeshare with Alaska Airlines, STARLUX has plans to collaborate with American Airlines, which will further expand its reach across the Americas. A new route to Phoenix is set to launch on January 15, 2026, providing additional access to American Airlines’ extensive domestic network.

6. Conclusion

The expansion of the codeshare partnership between STARLUX Airlines and Alaska Airlines marks a significant milestone in improving travel connectivity between the U.S. and Asia. As both airlines continue to grow their networks and enhance services, travelers can look forward to more choices and a seamless travel experience. This collaboration not only reflects the evolving landscape of international air travel but also highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in meeting the demands of modern travelers.
