Rapid7 Expands Global Footprint with New Capability Center in India

Slated to open in April 2025, the Pune GCC will function as both an innovation hub and a Security Operations Center (SOC). The center aims to provide 24/7 security operations coverage to Rapid7's growing customer base worldwide. This initiative is part of Rapid7's broader commitment to simplifying security and enabling clients to effectively navigate the evolving threat landscape.

Corey Thomas, Chairman and CEO of Rapid7, emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating, “Expanding into India is a critical step in accelerating Rapid7’s investments in security operations leadership and customer-centric innovation.” He highlighted the potential for innovation driven by diverse teams working collaboratively to tackle complex cybersecurity challenges.

The new center will not only enhance Rapid7's operational capabilities but will also focus on building a local team that prioritizes product and service innovation in cyber operations. This initiative is geared towards fostering a talent pipeline in the cybersecurity field, which has become increasingly crucial in a world where digital threats are on the rise.

Swami Nathan, Rapid7’s country manager for India, expressed enthusiasm about leading this transformational effort in Pune. In May 2025, the company will host three Security Day events in major cities: Mumbai (May 8), Delhi (May 13), and Bangalore (May 15). These events will bring together leaders from corporations, academic institutions, and government to discuss the evolving cyber threat landscape and share insights on cybersecurity advancements, including Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR).

In line with its commitment to shaping the future of cybersecurity, Sabeen Malik, Rapid7’s Vice President of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy, will participate in a panel discussion at the prestigious Raisina Dialogue. The panel, titled “Concert of Oceans: Towards A Digital Indo-Pacific,” will include key figures from both the corporate and governmental sectors, reinforcing Rapid7's role in global discussions on cyber and AI security policy.
