Ayman Antoun joins OpenText with over 30 years of extensive experience in the information technology sector. His most recent role was as President of IBM Americas, where he managed the company's most significant operations across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Antoun's leadership at IBM was marked by his focus on cloud technologies, cybersecurity, cognitive solutions, and digital modernization—areas that are critical to OpenText's future growth strategy.

P. Thomas Jenkins, Executive Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of OpenText, expressed confidence in Antoun’s capability to drive shareholder value. "The Board believes that he is the best leader to drive shareholder value by growing revenue in our core Enterprise Information Management for training Agentic AI business," Jenkins stated, highlighting the company's strategic focus.

2. Transitioning Leadership

Antoun will succeed James McGourlay, who has served as Interim CEO. McGourlay will continue contributing to OpenText in a new role within the Executive Leadership Team. Jenkins will revert to his prior position as Chair of the Board, emphasizing a seamless transition in leadership amidst a comprehensive search process for the CEO position.

"The Board's CEO Search Committee conducted a thorough CEO search, assessing a strong and diverse slate of global candidates," said David Fraser, Lead Independent Director and Co-Chair of the CEO Search Committee. Fraser noted that Antoun stood out for his experience in leading significant technology organizations, particularly in cloud and digital modernization.
