On November 12, 2025, Nasdaq Inc. (Nasdaq: NDAQ) marked a significant milestone by ringing the stock market's closing bell from Midland, Texas. This event coincided with the 8th Annual Permian Basin BBQ Cook-Off, highlighting the region's pivotal role in the energy sector and its contribution to powering the global economy.

1. A Celebration of Innovation and Collaboration

The event brought together key figures from the oil and gas industry, including executives and innovators dedicated to driving the sector forward. The gathering underscored Nasdaq's commitment to fostering innovation and growth within Texas, a state known for its leadership in the energy sector.

Nasdaq Texas: A New Dual Listing Venue

During the festivities, Nasdaq announced its plans to launch Nasdaq Texas, a new dual listing venue aimed at expanding its services across the state. This initiative is designed to provide enhanced growth and investment opportunities for U.S. investors while deepening Nasdaq's engagement with the region.

Rachel Racz, Head of Listings for Texas, Southern U.S., and LATAM, expressed the significance of launching Nasdaq Texas in the heart of the Permian Basin, stating, “Texas represents the best of American enterprise—innovation, resilience, and growth. At Nasdaq, we’re proud to list many of the world’s leading companies, each focused on powering their next chapter.” Racz emphasized that the initiative aims to provide companies in Texas with the capital and resources they need to scale effectively.

2. Strengthening the Ecosystem

John Daniel, Founder of Daniel Energy Partners, also spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of innovation and collaboration within the energy industry. He stated, “The energy industry thrives on innovation, resilience, and relationships,” and emphasized how Nasdaq Texas aligns with the region's vital role in America’s energy future.

This new venue will operate under Nasdaq's trusted technology and regulatory standards, allowing eligible companies to list and trade while benefiting from Nasdaq’s global market infrastructure.

A Commitment to Texas Growth

Nasdaq's investment in Texas reflects its deep-rooted presence in the region, where it currently partners with over 2,000 clients, including approximately 800 based in Texas. The state is also home to more than 200 listed companies representing over $2 trillion in market capitalization.

The launch of Nasdaq Texas is timely, following recent corporate law innovations by the Texas Legislature aimed at creating a more business-friendly environment. These developments position Texas as a forward-looking jurisdiction for companies seeking modern governance and operational flexibility.

3. Looking Ahead

Pending regulatory approvals, Nasdaq Texas is expected to become operational in 2026, further solidifying Nasdaq's commitment to supporting the economic growth of Texas and the broader energy sector.

As Nasdaq continues to enhance its offerings and strengthen its ties within the Permian Basin and beyond, the future looks bright for companies seeking to innovate and thrive in the evolving landscape of the global economy.
