1. Michael N. Kennedy Takes the Helm

In a significant leadership shift, Antero Resources Corporation (NYSE: AR) and Antero Midstream Corporation (NYSE: AM) have announced that effective August 14, 2025, Michael N. Kennedy will assume the roles of Chief Executive Officer, President, and Director for both companies. This transition marks a pivotal moment for Antero as it moves forward with Kennedy at the helm, succeeding Paul M. Rady, who will transition to the role of Chairman Emeritus.

2. A Leader with Proven Experience

Michael N. Kennedy has been a vital part of Antero's success since he joined the company in 2013. His extensive experience includes serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Antero Resources since 2021 and holding the position of Senior Vice President of Finance for both Antero Resources and Antero Midstream since 2016. Kennedy's financial acumen was further demonstrated during his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of Antero Midstream and its predecessors from 2016 to 2021.

Before joining Antero, Kennedy spent 12 years at Forest Oil Corporation, where he held various senior positions, including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. His career began as an auditor with Arthur Andersen, focusing on the Natural Resources Industry. Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

3. Praise from Industry Leaders

Benjamin A. Hardesty, Lead Independent Director of Antero Resources, commended Kennedy, stating, “Mike Kennedy is an inspirational leader with extensive oil and gas industry and financial experience. He was the obvious choice to succeed Paul, and I can think of nobody better to lead Antero Resources into its next phase.” Hardesty emphasized that with Kennedy at the helm, Antero Resources is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for natural gas, particularly from LNG markets and data centers.

Similarly, David H. Keyte, Lead Independent Director of Antero Midstream, expressed confidence in Kennedy's leadership, stating, “Mike has been well-respected in the industry for three decades… With Mike at the helm, I believe Antero Midstream is poised to build on its past successes and continue as an industry leader.”

4. Transitioning Leadership Roles

Rady's transition to Chairman Emeritus opens new leadership opportunities within Antero. Benjamin A. Hardesty will take on the role of Chairman of the Board for Antero Resources, while David H. Keyte will serve as Chairman of the Board for Antero Midstream. Both leaders bring extensive experience to their new roles, with Hardesty having been associated with Antero since its IPO in 2013 and Keyte having held senior executive positions in the oil and gas sector for over two decades.

5. New Board Appointments

Antero also announced several key appointments in conjunction with this leadership change. Yvette K. Schultz will join the Board of Directors of Antero Midstream, bringing her experience as General Counsel since 2017. Brendan E. Krueger, currently Chief Financial Officer, will continue in that capacity for Antero Resources and Antero Midstream, and Justin J. Agnew will become the Chief Financial Officer of Antero Midstream.

Kennedy highlighted the significance of these appointments: “Brendan Krueger and Justin Agnew have been instrumental in executing capital markets and strategic transactions for the Antero family of companies for over ten years. Their extensive knowledge and industry experience make them very well-suited to serve as Chief Financial Officers of Antero Resources and Antero Midstream, respectively.”

6. Looking Ahead

As Antero Resources and Antero Midstream enter this new chapter under Kennedy's leadership, the companies are poised to leverage their strong foundations in the Appalachian Basin to meet the ever-increasing demand for natural gas. With a robust management team and a clear vision for the future, Antero is set to enhance its position as a leader in the natural gas and midstream industries.

Antero Resources remains focused on the acquisition, development, and production of unconventional properties, while Antero Midstream continues to operate and develop crucial midstream assets that support these operations. The leadership transition promises to strengthen the strategic direction of both companies as they navigate the evolving energy landscape.
